Practice Manager, Carol MacPhee GDC 226755
I joined the practice in 2009 after moving to Glasgow from the Western Isles in 2006. I was delighted to be given the opportunity of working full time and studying in the evenings thus gaining my dental nurse qualification. I instantly loved nursing, especially in orthodontics where we are constantly giving people new smiles. It’s been great to work in a practice that has helped me progress my career and become Practice Manager. At GOC we have a happy, friendly team which I think is important to help our patients feel at ease. In my spare time I like walking and running to keep fit and I also enjoy baking.
Assistant Manager, Natalie McGarth GDC 200006
Having passed my NVQ 3 in Dental Nursing in June 2010, I started working at Giffnock Orthodontic Centre the following month. I have gained many skills, experience and even my certificate in dental radiography since then and have worked my way up to assistant manager. The best part of my job apart from working with such great friends and patients is treatment co-ordination, being able to sit down with patients and give them all the advice and knowledge they need to get excited about their new smile and giving them a positive experience and being with them from start to finish.
Our receptionist, Linda Gray
I have been at the practice since 1998 and would class myself as a people person. I like getting to know our patients and even seeing their children come as patients now. Yes, it can make me feel old but I prefer to be called highly experienced! I love being part of the team and enjoy the nights out we have. I've been to a few and could tell you a few stories. In my spare time I enjoy walking my daughter's dog, shopping and reading.
The Orthodontic Nurses
Senior Nurse, Ellis Boyd GDC 254603
I started my career at Giffnock Orthodontic Centre at the beginning of October 2015 after studying at New College Lanarkshire for 2 years. Although having worked in general dentistry I have always been interested in orthodontics and seeing the transformation in patients at the end of their treatment. In my spare time I like to spend time with family and also love to do some shopping!
Dental Nurse, Kelly Edwards GDC 223186
Dental Nurse, Beth Tourish GDC 275506
After two years of training and working in a hospital setting, I soon realised Orthodontics was the speciality for me. I enjoy seeing our patients grow in confidence when they are coming to the end of their treatment, it is very rewarding. I have recently joined GOC in April 2018 and love being a part of the team, progressing and developing my skills.
Dental Nurse, Mahnoor Fatima Khan GDC 272992
I started working at Giffnock Orthodontic Centre in October 2016 as a trainee nurse, and since day one I have enjoyed working with the staff and wanted to continue working with them full time after completing my dental nursing qualification. I have always felt welcomed in the practice by everyone and have loved working as a family with them. They guided me and helped me gain my qualification and further develop my skills as a dental nurse. Currently I’m studying for my dental radiography qualification but hope to progress even further. I love working with patients to help them with their concerns and gain their desired smile.
