Patient Journey
Your patient journey begins here. If you have been referred by your dentist or you are a self-referal and have decided to have your teeth straightened here is some information about what to expect.

NHS Patient Journey
Before your appointment
- Upon receiving your referral from your dentist, we will enter your details onto our system and send you an SMS asking you to contact us to book in for your consultation
- Within this message will also be a link to our patient brochure which will tell you about who we are and what we do, along with a map and directions to find us
- When you call, we will offer you either the next available date or the next day/time we have that suits you. Please be aware that due to the high demand for after school appointments these are booked further in advance so you may have to wait longer for these appointments
- For adults, consultations are free, however, we would require a £40 deposit which is refundable on the day of the appointment unless the appointment is missed or amended without giving 2 working days’ notice
During your appointment
We will carry out a full clinical examination of your mouth which can include:
- A full Orthodontic assessment
- Advising you if you are eligible to apply for NHS orthodontic treatment (see our for more information)
- Advice on all the treatment options available and timescales
- Giving you a comprehensive quote in advance so you know all the costs involved (if you pay for NHS treatment, see our Fees page for more information) If you are not eligible for NHS treatment, or decide not to have NHS treatment, we can advise you of any Private options available to you
- Taking any necessary radiographs and scans (this may be carried out on the same visit or a separate visit)
Following your appointment
- We will send you/your dentist a full report outlining our recommended treatment plan
- If we are applying to the NHS for your treatment, we will submit this application and advise you of the outcome when they get back to us. The decision making can take 3-6 months and is not decided by us
- If your NHS treatment is approved, we will email you your consent from outlining the treatment as well as any risks, so you are fully informed before booking your next appointment to start the treatment
- We will keep you and your dentist informed at every stage of orthodontic treatment. You will be requested to continue all routine dental check-ups with your dentist
- When your Orthodontic treatment is completed, you will be referred to your dentist for on-going maintenance to keep your new smile healthy
- If your application is declined, we can give you a quote to have the treatment carried out Privately (see our Fees page for more information)
